Pet Pals
Pet Pals is a pet adoption service offered to help connect future pet owners and their pets!
My goal for this project was to complete a clear and concise flow of adoption for our users while also ensuring that the safety of pets are taken in consideration.
Project Overview
The Problem
Adopting a pet can be a difficult and overwhelming process. Animal and rescue groups are overwhelmed, and underfunded. This is turn, gives more opportunity for unregulated breeders, which risks the health and wellbeing of pets.
The Goal
Pet Pals is here to simplify this experience, while also looking after our beloved pets, helping them find their forever homes!
Starding the design
Sitemap
By starting with a sitemap, I was able to visualize how individual webpages or site sections are related to each other. This also helped me plan the user flow for this project better.
Sketching and initial wireframing
I sketched some basic wireframes to help me plan and visualize how the landing page would come to be.
Lo-fi mockup
Laying the screens in order shows how I wanted the flow of adoption to be. Remembering that the design flow is based on how the user interacts with the product, and less on how individual screens look.

Sketch
I should have taken more time to iterate on as many design possibilities on paper first. Weighting the pros and cons of each design is essential during the design phase, while also saving more time.

Objective
Stating the objective of the design and what I want to achieve for the user should have been more clearly stated (when, what, where, which, who, and how). Without a clearly stated objective, building my wireframes felt a bit ‘random’. This is when I went back, and thought of my objective more clearly before proceeding.

Flow
My goal with Pet Pals was to make the experience of the user using it as seamless as possible. Remembering that the design flow is based on how the user interacts with the product, and less on how individual screens look.
