Phase 1 - Interview
Problem/Objective
From my research, and by interviewing the client, we agreed that the business lacked an online presence. In a competitive market such as the auto business, building as much credibility as possible with potential customers is crucial in guaranteeing that customers will pick you over your competition.
It was clear that the business was trustworthy and had credible reviews from customers, but that isn’t always enough. Therefore, creating a website, while taking advantage of the already existing good reputation that SM Motors has became the goal.
Phase 2 - Design Process
Content Collection
For the content collection phase of building the website for SM Motors, I visited their auto shop to capture high-quality images of the business, vehicles, and team in action. This helps ensure the website authentically represents the shop and its services, giving customers a true sense of what SM Motors offers. By gathering real-time content directly from the source, I'm able to create a visually engaging, up-to-date, and informative site that reflects the personality and professionalism of the business.
Phase 3 - Client Review
Content Collection
The client review process during the design phase involves presenting the initial website design or prototype to the client for feedback. This phase typically includes:
Design Presentation: Sharing mockups or a live demo of the site layout, color schemes, fonts, and overall visual structure.
Client Feedback: The client provides input on elements they like or want adjusted, such as imagery, content placement, or navigation flow.
Revisions: Based on the feedback, necessary changes are made to refine the design and align it with the client's vision.
Approval: Once the revisions are satisfactory, the client approves the final design, allowing the project to move to the development or content integration stage.
Clear communication and collaboration are essential to ensure the design meets the client's expectations.
Phase 4 - Launch
Launching the Website involves taking the final, approved version live. Here’s a breakdown of the key steps:
Final Testing: Before going live, thorough testing is conducted to ensure all features function correctly, including forms, links, and responsive design across devices.
SEO Optimization: Meta tags, keywords, and other SEO elements are fine-tuned to improve search engine visibility.
Client Sign-Off: The client gives final approval after reviewing the live site in a staging environment.
Website Launch: The website is published to the public domain, making it accessible to users. Domain and hosting settings are finalized.
Post-Launch Support: Monitoring the site for any potential issues and providing ongoing support for updates or fixes as needed.
This phase marks the culmination of the project, ensuring the website is fully functional and ready for visitors.
